After rave reviews from ridertraining and kildareman I decided to take the plunge. After two pairs of Daytona non stop gtx I felt I wanted something completely different and I couldn't seem to find anything else in my size off the shelf.
I emailed the factory with a few queries about sizing and then phoned with a few more queries and placed my order..........on 11 Aug '07. Was then told they would be dispatched in Oct . No problem ,Aug and Sept is usually mild /dry........
Phoned at the end of Oct to be told ,sorry behind schedule del in Nov, finally rcvd on 16 Nov '07.
Were they worth the three month wait ?
Well, like all leather products with time, they tend to grow on you. I spent the first half day stomping around the house like Bella Lugosi then attempted to ride a bike which wasn't as bad as expected. The sole and boots generally were quite stiff to start with, although flexibility is improving all the time .
The sole itself offers superb grip on wet road surfaces (while stopped at lights etc) unlike my previous choice.
They're a ce certified boot in terms of protection but don't expect the modern type shin protectors/ ankle guards, these are just a regular h/d real leather boot with waterproof lining .
Verdict: A well made traditional waterproof leather boot which looks like it will last for years.

Just remember to use the Leder Gris boot wax on them. My boots are now into their third year & look like new (ish). Tellingly they have never & I include the "Summer" just gone, let in a single drop of water. Possibly the best boots I've ever owned, & I've owned a few pairs since starting riding in 1980!

How often do you use that? I would have but they've been permanently (externally) wet since since I got them. (let me know when I can drop them down )

I have a pair of these sitting under the stairs back home, but have yet to wear them. I got them before I got my vespas, and then when I sold my big bikes, couldn't really wear them on the vespa!
Gonna start wearing them now though, as the Alpinestars I have are pretty worn & let in water after not too long at all.

I got the 'Clubman Classic with buckles' btw. Again, on the word of others who swear by Altberg boots.

You lazy *it! Every couple of weeks. You can apply while damp without damaging them.
I'll do it for you but it'll cost you €10 per boot.

just bought a pair of bmw all-round boots, g/tex and comfy, reasonable protection & at 150.00 euro, not too dear

Bought these the other week. Haven't worn them yet as they are going under the tree for Christmas.

I wanted something that were a little higher than the current ones and also I didn't want a pair with zips.

I will let you's know how I get on after Christmas.

They're Aerostich Combat Touring Boots & they only start at size 7, no good for me. Do look good though.

Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, like them. They don't look fancy but then again they don't squeek when I walk either. Bear in mind a lot of UK police forces use these. In fact they were originally designed for them.
