For those familier with scottoiler then the slipperblock is supposedly the next iteration of the application end. Started with a single side applicator, then the duel applicator & now the slipperblock, although just to complicate a little the other two are still available. The single comes with the universal kit, the dual & slipperblock units are additional extras.
I've progressed from the single to the duel, which if you mind the applicator tube ends - clean every now and then, works really well. Chain life increases like you wouldn't believe & you almost forget about adjusting the chain. Reason being that the oil applied to the chain provides a cushion between the sprocket & chain rollers, hard to believe I know, but hay it works.
Now the Slipperblock.
Comes well packaged & includes pretty much everything you should need, a variety of zip ties, both permanent & reusable, superglue, sandpaper, tubing, tube guide & the slipperblock itself which is a softish rubber block which is hollowed with some tubing connected to it. The block is split along the bottom to allow fitment around the chain. Inside the block are some holes for the oil to exit onto the chain.
First things first I'm an RTFM man. It only takes 5 minutes and there are some pictures to
So what to do? Well first off - Off with the slipperblock & back on with the trusty dual injector.
Second will be an e-mail to scottoiler with a couple of suggestions. Personally think it is a good idea but I think the block needs to be stiffer. The side walls are very pliable.
Overall impression - 5 out of 10.
Recommendation - Dual injector is still the daddy.
