If there's any more of you out there like me that have to stretch your biking budget due to having to fit it around all the other family budgets this might be a tip for you!
As a rule bikeshops tend to charge a sore price for batteries and as someone that also does some "car trade" work I can I always find it hard to understand how bike batteries are so much dearer than car batteries.
So I hatched an obvious plan!
Asked my local car parts shop to order me a YB14LA2 battery....
"You won't have it in stock" I tell them!
It arrived last week, less than a week after ordering it...
Cost.... €40!
Result I'd say!
Batteries! The budget biker option!

Ive never bought a batt in a bikeshop. I always go to car and lawnmower places and classic shows when i think of them. The ride on lawnmower 12v batteries are the same. Also 2 6v batteries can be mounted in series to make 12v.
who the fook is messing with my signature. if i find them i WILL kill them.

I always try to buy yuasa. I find cheap batteries are a bad investment as they usually dont last. Halfords do em cheap enough and have a good selection.

Good man... I think the battery I got was Varta, Had one in a bike years back and it was as good as anything else I've had....

Just make sure you get one that's powerful enough otherwise you're likely to wreck your regulator/rectifier and possibly the starter or alternator IIRC.
