let it be a lesson to everyone
A lad tried it with my motocrosser
Luckily I rumbled him
put him up on the back (with no footpegs)
hard as I could go across the field
he jumped off and ran away cursing me

As someone who works in IT I have to say the Gardai should have some system in place to get something like that done as soon as possible and as easily as possible. It is just something a computer does. The guys in the NOC (network operations center) for Vodafone or meteor or whoever can do a triangulation with a few mouse clicks.
Got some details as well, I'll just copy and paste what he emailed me:
It has a black db screen, Yoshimura RS5 can, crash mushrooms, front mudguard slightly cracked on right hand side and head fairing cracked beside mirror bracket on right hand side. Engine casing on right hand side resprayed matt black. Small scratch on front brake lever and back foot peg right side.
Frong tyre is Pirelli, and back is Dunlop.

This obviously isn't his bike, but his was the exact same colour scheme, with the alteration above. Thanks!

The lesson might be don't let your friend bring the bike to potential buyer meeting when you are in work. Lesson for friend might be that just because the guy hands you the keys to an ancient Honda Civic with a Garda keyring on it doesn't mean he really has a brother in the Gardai or that he is trust worthy!! *sigh* I don't know who I feel sorrier for, my cousins fiance or his friend who brought the bike for this scum bag to see
They met at Dagwells pub near Prosperous in Kildare. Don't know if that information will help!
