Firefox - Superior browser to Microsoft's Internet Explorer, other offerings include Google Chrome, Opera and the Mac browser Safari.
English Dictionary - Plugin for Firefox, constantly spell checks everything you type in the browser, very handy and saves you having to edit posts on IBF to fix typos (provided you notice!)
Media Converter - plug in that allows you download videos off sites such as Youtube, what's nice about this one is it allows you choose the output file type for the download, unlike most others which will only allow you download the video as an .FLV file. Also, only want the sound? No problem, it will only rip the audio and save it in a format such as MP3 for you.
SUPER video converter - have a file in one format and need it in another? Throw it into SUPER and tell it how you want to be. Can handle massive files sizes unlike a lot of converters.
Stumble - Yes, I know there was a separate thread for this but its worth mentioning again, download, tell it your interests and the next time you're bored, hit the Stumble button and it will throw up something it thinks will interest you! It also learns from you by you approving/disapproving of sites and will tweek results going forward.
Launchy - My favourite bit of kit lately, an open source, completely free tool that allows you to find what you're looking for with a couple of keystrokes. If you're like me and have a sh!t load of icons and programs installed and sometimes have trouble finding what you're looking for, this is the solution. Simply press Alt + Space and Launchy appears and only needs 2 to 3 letters of the program name (in my experience) to find what you're looking for, hit Enter and the program is launched. Have helped me massively.
Image Resizer - follow the link and find the imageresizer.exe file, now the next time you come back from a Rally, after copying your photos to your PC, select the pics you want to resize (Ctrl + A to select all) right click on any one image and choose resize pictures, select the size you want and let it run. You will now get resized versions of all selected photo's, this is extremely handy for uploading to sites such as Photobucket as instead of uploading 50 photos at a few MBs each, you're uploading 50 photos at a couple 100KB (if that) each, makes it much much faster and the quality is the same when pics are viewed unless you resize them very small.
Folder Size for Windows Explorer - if I ever catch the spanner in Microsoft who decided we wouldn't need to be able to see the file size of a folder when using Windows Explorer, I'll f*cking strangle him! Thankfully, this little piece of software fixes a glaringly obvious design flaw and may have saved said developers life.
I'll update this thread with any others I've forgotten.
