There have been a few updates available to us which we havent availed of. Generally speaking I am a believer of "what isnt broke, then dont fix" but the upgrades offer us some improved features.
Namely:
more secure
facebook integration (which is under review)
long awaited mobile version
We have decided to implement the changes. There will be some downtime of course.
Will update nearer the time.

With the above in mind, I'll be taking the forum offline tomorrow, circa 10am for a full backup. Expect to be back up at around noon or so.

This upgrade is scheduled for tomorrow. Most likely late evening, but if I can get it done sooner I will.

I broke it
Were sort of back running, but there is some post upgrade config needed, for example the portal has gone AWOL, and I need to rebuild / re-index the databases.
Also our limited number of sponsors have lost their banners (Sorry about that) and the webmail etc. etc. etc.
For the improved functionality / stability and security / iPhone application, mobile version etc. etc. etc. I believe it was a worthwhile exercise.
Please bear with us as we come to grips with how the new system hangs together, and yes, we'll have the same difficulties as you guys getting used to the new look and positions of buttons etc. etc. etc......
