Sorry but I find the glamorizing of criminals just too gut wrenching to watch.

I just finished watching series two last night, got 1 & 2 as a pressie. i have to say, i thought the first few episodes in series one were a load of cat, just way to over the top, but there was summat that kept me watching.
The second half of seies one was where the director/story found its feetand it got really good from there..the Darker it got, the better. Really enjoyed series 2, will have to go buy series 3 as soon as i can.
Shins, give it a go, as you say its chewing gum for th brain, but it does get better as the charachters develop more.

Maybe so Wesi, I sat through all six series of Sopranos, I was a fan and then by the end I got to thinking this is just a story of murder and how people can just be so cold blooded. By the last episode I was hoping the main characters would all get put in jail and the whole gang would be wound up. I just couldn't accept that glorifying criminal activity and making anti-hero's would be any good at all. SOA portrays a lifestyle that is just for the few, most people would shy away from it as most people wouldn't have the stomach for it. It doesn't really come close to what it all really is and tries to blend home life with club life, which is always at odds with the MC lifestyle. I do think some things should be left alone. It just gives people a false impression of the 1% lifestyle, not that I'm an expert or anything.
I probably will give it another go on your recomondation Wesi, I'm not one to close my eyes and ears to other people's opinion.

If you can stick with it, the final episode in Season 3, the culmination of the ATF/IRA storyline, is utterly brilliant.

agreed
the 1st season is crap
the 1st half of the 2nd season is crap
the 2 main actors have the charisma of an oyster and don't do any good to the serie, but overall... and if you can hold on, it's good.
the 3rd season is really really good.

What really annoyed me in season 3 was at any point you could see an Actors face, they weren't in Ireland. The only times you seen real Irish parts was when they where driving in groups and from a distance. It reminded me of the few eps of Hero's that was based in "Ireland" Where security gards carried side arms and everyone talked like tools.

BTW, some excellent sounds go with this show. I know it's been discussed before, but I'm trying to pull it all together here if anyone wants to trawl through it all
