OK, this happened before the new look forum, but not very often. Now, however, the instances are getting more frequent.

Firstly - ADMIN DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR PMs

However

If you get an email from admin @ irishbikerforum.com telling you that you have a new PM/email, Do not reply to it. Instead, follow the link you were given at the end of that email.

IT WILL COME BACK TO THE ADMIN MAILBOX AND THE CONTENT WILL BE VISIBLE TO ADMIN

might be worth setting to something other than admin@ ... maybe even the users' own username@ ?

I have checked and the address is not configurable (is that even a real word :lol:

??)
IF this persists, I will remove the email notification option. We seriously dont want to be reading other peoples PM's....

Not possible El Greeko, its hard coded for now....

Email is sent on behalf of admin, and thus if I change the admin address, then admin get no email....

I dont think so Rick, but thanks for asking :twocents:

I always look forward to your balanced approach regarding our moderation / admin decisions.
An email is an email, a PM is a PM, replying to an email notification of a pm (which is quite explicit in its message) is a bit dopey despite 5 months or so of highlighting it, and I really dont want to know what people are up to and what shady deals are going on (especially the ones that breach the board guidelines)
So the options are disable notifications on a global scale (not really something I want to do), or +warn people.

Maybe the easiest option would be to be to disable the email that admin sends to users to notify them have recieved a pm.

Surely this would save you alot of time and effort in +warns, and all the headaches it must be causing you when you see their silly "shady deals" or conspirisy theory's and whatever else ales you..

I have faith in you as Admin that you will find a proper soluation to this crisis in due time, and not alienate members/future members from joining our good site over such trivial matters..

Just a mini bump, finally figured out how to change the auto reply and I've moved the text: "PLEASE DO NOT REPLY DIRECTLY TO THIS EMAIL!"
Further up in the notification.

No member were warned in the end, much to my chargrin

Please take care to not reply to PM notifications.
