Honda CRF 250 chassis with a CR 500 motor planted inside, savage piece of kit... If only id had a few quid!
660 smc is 660cc, has keihin flatside carb, 9ltr petrol tank and kickstart only with oil/filter/valves done every 1200...
Their about 60/65bhp
625 smc is 625cc, has keihin flatside carb, 9ltr petrol tank, kick start and electric start... Makes near the same bhp as the 660 but oil/filter/valves done every 3000 ( though I do mine every 1500/2000kms for piece of mind )
SMC=Supermoto competion, both 660 & 625 are animals to go
640 is 625cc and the more commuter based with normal carb, 13ltr tank, kickstart & electric start and better headlight, think the cam might be slightly different from the other 2 and its a few bhp down, with oil/filter/valves done every 3000...
Get a 660 for sheer madness, but if you plan on a bit of commuting 625's got near the performance of the 660 but the practicality of the 640 which is what I went for! 640's a good machine but out the crate lacks performace, although a new carb and some minor work livens them up!
Mind you as Ryano said their all heavier than the WR but they have a bit more poke on the straights, handy if your riding with anything that'll do more than 110, but straights are the boring bits between corners.
Seems to be a few motards on Donedeal at the moment, WRs, CRFs, Husabergs, KTMs.
Next motard for me will be either a Husky 450smr or KTM 525/450 smr, far more aggressive, lighter and focused machines than my current KTM 625. Dont ride on the road much anymore but would like to start doing trackdays.
My KTMs great craic, savage noise, enough torque to pull the arms off yea, immediate throttle response and so easy to chuck around, very forgiving too if you get it wrong! Highly recommend an SM
Heres my bus

It's hard to believe that this thing could be considered fat and porky, but compared to the above listed machines, it is!

Not too bad Delooney been keeping quiet for various reasons, the 950 may be a little bigger than the above but its an animal none the less, perfect for all irish roads as has been demonstrated on many occasions. Id considered one myself, mines due a winter makeover, so i dragged it throught the house, much to the wifes delight, out back to shed! So hopefully it'll be sorted for spring, possibly get it taxed and insured and get back out on the roads!
Or sell it get a featherlight 450 smr and spend the rest of the year thrashing it round go-kart tracks

As for those 950's they're awesome... there not the sportiest supermoto you can have but jesus, you would drive one to China in one sitting and still have a painless bum
So what do ya say lads, anyone up for a supermoto meeting this summer, somewhere in the middle of the island?

A motard meet would be great, must get mine sorted and refreshed for the coming summer and possibly move it on.
Yea next on the list is smaller, lighter and more focused.... Really like the Husky 450/510's
This is what id like but getting it is another thing
pic shamelessly stolen from SMJ, class machine altogether though

Sorry Skipper we ran your thread off course...
If its just something for ripping up back lanes on the weekends Id go small, 450cc... Much more agile and great power to weight ratio (Honda CRFs, Yamaha WR/YZFs, KTM EXC, Huskys, Bergs)
If its for a bit more A road, longer distance Id go KTM LC4- 625 SMC, Husqvarna 610, Husaberg 650(Bergs racier than the other 2 as far as I know)... The bigger 600cc Sms are a fair bit heavier but still very light compared to any other type of bike, as you can see from my previous posts I want something smaller, agile and focused, a real animal down a twisty that will turn on a six pence.
If you look on Autotrader UK there a lot to choose from and donedeal has a good choice too. Singles are maintenance hungry so buy a well cared for one and expect to pay a little more for that, buy a nail and it'll cost you by going bang.
