Here at The Irish Biker Forum a tradition for meets and runs has become part of the fabric of the forum. It’s a good chance to meet the people behind the Forum names, it’s good fun and they are always a good laugh. Over time the runs have got to be known by their initials and can be a bit confusing to newcomers to the site. I’m listing the names of the run and meets ad a short explanation of the names and the meet up points. I do hope this is useful to the new members that have just recently joined us.
SMBR (Sunday Morning Breakfast Run) is one of the oldest runs on IBF (Irish Biker Forum). The idea behind this run is that it has an early start for those people with families can get out for a spin, have some breakfast and be home for round lunch time to attend to family duties they might have. The meeting point is the Texaco filling station at Clonee Co Meath at 9am most Sunday mornings.
LBSR (Lazy Bastids Sunday Run) This run is for the people who like to have a lie in on Sunday mornings and has a later start time of 10am. This run is a bit later start and normally is a whole day out and a longer time spent on the bike. The meeting point is Blake’s Cross filling station. North Co Dublin.
WESR (Wednesday Evening Scones Run) This is one of the summer runs and meets again in Blake’s Cross filling station North Co Dublin at 6pm. This run is intended as a prelude to any weekend ride outs and members meet up for a short spin a cup of tea/coffee and of course a scone.
Smokes and Coffee meet ups are intended as a get together of members on any evening, mostly in Dublin city centre, but they can happen anywhere in the country. Keep and eye on the meet up section for all meet ups.
NOB (Night of banter) these are very popular with all members and are a night of talk and fun in the Pub. These can happen all around the country and generally are an overnight stay in area they are held in.
Flaps (Friday afternoon apple pie spin) A new addition to the IBF spins, for people who just can’t wait for the weekend. Meet up point is to be decided and the run itself is to Laragh for the Dutch Apple pie and a return spin home.
Anyone can set up their own run/meet up. Its easy to do, just go to the meet up/ride out section and start a new thread. Guidelines/hints to posting a new run/meet up. Post the date and the meeting place. Say where it is that you are thinking of going, this will give everyone a chance to make up their minds if they have enough time to participate in the run and so they can make their plans. Post well in advance, this will give people time to plan and make arrangements.
If anyone else has spins that are not mentioned here, please copy and paste onto my list. Please no chat in the thread as it is intended for the New people coming to the site.
Shins.
