2: "Gem Motorcycle Workshop" Ranelagh.Dave
I was away for last week and hadn't used the bike for nearly two weeks so first things first I left it on charge overnight. Monday morn arrived and off I went to work, two hundred yards down the road and it died on me, then came back to life for about a half mile then died again, this continued from Finglas to Broadstone when I eventually got parked up safely.
I guessed it was electrical/battery related and rang a mate for his opinion and he agreed so next thing was what to do with it to sort the problem and lo and behold in my phone was Motorcycle Recovery so I gave him a ring had a wee chat and we agreed on the possible problem and he'd be with me in 15 minutes. True to his word Martin arrived and we checked a few things,Alarm,Main fuse Battery and terminals/connections and it seemed to be fine, put it back together, went to move and it died again. What did you do, he says, I grabbed the bars, says I. So we started messing around with the bars and found the problem a loose wire somewhere in the ignition.Martin said he couldn't fix this at the side of the road, fairings to be striped down and all that so he'd ring Dave in Gem in Ranelagh.
Bring it up was the reply I got so off we went
Martins bill for
coming to look at the bike, trying to fix the bike, diagnosing the problem and then transporting the bike and me to Ranelagh, 55 euro.
I rooted through my pockets and scraped up 50 euro and 5 pound sterling (petrol money for shins mates)
We arrived at Gem explained the problem to Dave. He stopped working on the bike he was at and sorted mine in about twenty minutes (fairing didn't need to be removed). Any way we're yapping away and I asked him if he takes Visa and he says no cash only so I said stop now I gave all my cash to Martin to get me here, He didn't stop working, fixed the wiring, checked and adjusted my scott oiler, checked and pumped my rear tyre, oiled the chain and checked the lights and then says to me drop me in 20 euro the next time you're passing
What a Gent, the attitude of the man was even better than getting my bike fixed and has restored my faith in mankind,
I'm going out to him tomorrow with the 20 euro and there will be another 20 with it for his much appreciated kindness

It can work in their favour too. I'll certainly be keeping them in mind should I ever need their services in the future.

I'm glad you got my next bike sorted out
It does seem that people now want your business and your money, fair play to me man in Gem, waiting for his money. It was a good call on his part and now has won himself a good customer for the futrue.
