They fix loads of bikes. It was the first time i went into a main dealer and last time to get something fixed. Only went in as nobody really seem to really know what caused the air suction.

About two years ago I got stainless pipes and new headrace bearings fitted. One of the exhaust studs was snapped, they knew this before I gave them the bike and got the quote. For labour I was quoted in advance, 1.25 hours for bearings and 1.75 hours for exhaust (I had the fairings off already) so total was to be 3 hours and quoted €50 per hour, total €150 for labour. 2 days later, I went to collect the bike and invoice was for 7 hours at €60 per hour = €420 per labour plus VAT, complained and was told, sorry, it took longer than we expcted, they eventually agreed to charge €50 per hour, the hourly rate they originally quoted... so labour total was €350,which was €200 more than they had quoted when I left the bike in.
Also, they did not have a replacement exhaust nut for the broken stud so put a regular nut on it and told me to come back in the following Saturday. I arrived the following Saturday morning to get the nut replaced (Again, I had the fairings off), and I was told I would have to leave the bike with them til Tuesday.... b****x to that, eventually after arguing, they swapped the nut within a few minutes.
Normally I don't post bad service stories but in this case I told them I wasn't happy and they just shrugged.
As I said, I haven't darkened their door again.

It is very annoying when you get service like this. I know you went in to complain and got no joy.
I personally would not leave it at that. I would write to the Service Manager (Paul Killeen) and just put in writing your issues and ask what they intend to do about it.
Explain it is not good enough to let a bike out that has not been properly fixed and that you want it done right and you should be given something for the inconvenience.
Make it clear you want an answer and that if you do not hear back within x days you will take it further.
Writing might be a pain however it does takes the emotion out of it and allows you to clearly state the facts and is harder to ignore. Send a follow-up letter if you do not get a reply and copy in the Managing Director including a copy of your first letter.

Those 2 stories are terrible. It makes you want to write down the agreed procedures / quote before getting them to do anything.
I want to go to them to get spare Honda keys, but after reading that, I may stay well away from them.

I replaced the bearings on the Deauville.
Capital did the bearings on the Vfr. Come to think of it, I didn't have a problem with the Vfr bearings but when I brought it in to Honda for the exhaust they told me the bearings needed doing so I guess they were on the way out.
