Right so IBF is gone a wee bit quiet....why dont we try to liven it up a wee bit.

How about:

- Bike of the Month topic
- member profiles topic (profile a member each month..members 'offer' to be profiled)
- daily/weekly caption topic (we used to have a lot of this)
- an email to members who havent posted in xx days/weeks (I get similar emails from other websites saying 'Hi Sean, we missed you etc)Might get more activity on forum?

Anyone else? :unsure:

Hmm, here's some mad ideas - they are probably not practical but I would put it out there anyway.

- Make it faster.
My major issue with IBF is that it's slow. Pages load and render slower than say boards or biker. Is it the software? Is it the server/bandwidth/database?

- Make it simpler.
This is a tricky one. IBF's main page and sub forums are very well structured. That's a good thing. However, it also means one need to navigate down to Section-subsection etc to get where they want to get. This combined with the previous point, makes it tedious. One probably solution that I would suggest is to modernise - move from old BB style to new Reddit-ish discussion forum. Threads classified to groups by the tags. You can cross-post with more than one tag in exceptional cases if required. For instance, I can start a thread and pick one of the available tags - say 'Technical'. Anyone can go straight to 'ibf.com.../technical' and see it there. Something like reddit, except the 'upvote' option I suppose.
