Interesting. Yeah, as you say, someone brave, but it actually doesn't sound too difficult. I'd trust him more if he could spell "vice" the real and proper way

Depends on what he is actually using to hole it, and what you're assuming he is using

I am a little confused as to how he wired the connections up...it does sound like he has wired 2 windings in parallel and not in series. Hmmm.....will play with an old stator when I get home and see what its all about.

Well spotted. It looked to me like it was wound in 'star' layout, I'm sure I saw him joining 3 winding ends together, giving him 2 windings in series. I must stop combining internet browsing with wine drinking!
