Few teaser shots been knocking about the last while. I know there are a few hardcore V Strom fans here.

Supposedly tomorrow, 22nd June Suzuki will unveil a new version of their current VL650 V Strom. Details are sketchy to say the least. Some skeptics reckon its nothing knew and we've seen it all before, writing it off before its even been released !

The new V Strom will be aimed at the current mid sized class - 800cc possibly with an all new aluminium bridged frame. The 800cc will bring it in direct competition with the hugely successful Triumph 800 & BMW F800GS. Its possible that a larger displacement V Strom (perhaps 1200cc) will be seen soon.

For now, we just have to wait.

All I've heard is it's just a rehash, using the Gladius 650 engine, itself nothing new.

The engine is fine already imo (not that I've ridden one, but I've only heard good things). What the japs need to do is go more hardcore and stop watering down/diluting these bikes so much, by which I simply mean put on some proper suspension, and give the option of spoked wheels and a 21" front. It's not rocket science or anything.

Nothing new really to what i was expecting bar the styling (?). Few minor changes, new exhaust,engine compression up slightly but it's still a 650cc bike (nout wrong with that). Weight is down slightly also. A three way adjustable screen as well as cockpit changes are all thats come to light so far.

Looks refreshed and good imo.

The V-strom could never be described as handsome, but that is fugly. Must be the same designer what did the Gladius. I better start getting my stable of Suzukis assembled before they go too far down Chris-Bangle-Strasse.

Defo from the same design house as the Gladius. No matter how much I look at it I just can't find anything I like about it.
