Hey everyone....
I said i'd pop up a quick review here and it might be a help to someone so check it out

So i trumped up recently and bought a Shoei Multitech flip up helmet. Purchased in Visor shop in Crosssan MC (was in dublin one wknd and its only an hour up the road, v helpful too with a huge selection)
There I was able to try on several types of flip up i had in mind and it came down to Shark Evoline or Multitec, loved both.....choice came down to comfort and fit. Pretty important!!!

So far i've had a good few chances to test it and heres what i think.

1. Very light by comparison to other flip ups, and my old KBC.
2. A tad noisey at speed but easily solved by ear plugs.
3. Good enough airflow with vents open, especially on top..............lack of hair helps keep temp down
4. Cut outs in padding above cheek pads make sunglasses wearing comfy.
5. Came with spare smoke visor, v easy to change, couple of seconds does it.
6. Styled nicely, I went for the white one and looks really well on.
7. Easy to operate and v secure locking mechanism, steel pin and catch

This lid fits me really well and is so comfortable, on long spins of 2 hours or more i hardly feel like i'm wearing it.

One really good bit advice i'd give is......try try try as many lids as you can before choosing. When i went out to buy i had a budget which pushed the multitech outside that. I tried Nolan N103, Shark evoline, Caberg and HJC lids but the fit on some was terrible. Ultimately the Shoei had the superior build quality and great fit for me so i stumped up !!

Maybe this will be of help to someone, or just ask me if thers anything specific.

Was in the region of 420 yoyos. Bit more that i had intended to spend but it topped the bill and i was afraid of regretting it later if i had settled for another.

I've had a Shoei Synchrotec for a few years. I did the same and tried on loads at a bike show in England before stumping up more than I expected. It was the fit that decided it. It's been a good flip front lid for me. No doubt other people's heads are different shapes so other lids will fit them better. It doesn't have a removable liner so cleaning it is a bit awkward, but not impossible.

I don't know how to tell in advance if a lid will be noisy or not so it was a guess. I suppose if it seals well enough at the bottom it should be tolerable.

I noticed that all the flip front lids I looked at were heavier than equivalent fixed full face helmets. If I didn't wear glasses I'd probably pick a fixed front lid, but it's handy to not remove it when paying for petrol which I'd feel I'd have to do with a fixed lid.

Have a Multitech - Very noisey - Only use it for training - Can't beat my Shark RSI

I paid 360 for my Multitech.

I bought a Multitech and a Schuberth C3 together. Why both ? Various reasons. The Multitech was and is faultless. The Schuberth has irritating problems but I will deal with that elsewhere in this forum. In simple terms the Shoei for me is a brilliant helmet. I would like a dropdown dark visor but apart from that no issues with the Shoei and I would recommend it to anyone.
