Probably too late for some, but Lidl has the bike gear on sale again today.

Picked up a disk lock for a tenner etc. I think this is the left over's from the sale a few months ago. I don't see any bags though.

Just passed another Lidl this afternoon.

Jaysus big foot was out early today scooping up all the socks.

1 pair of size 9-11 left on shelf.

Hope they waterproof too.

picked up a lock and gloves for myself, gloves arent bad at all, very happy with the lock, great for €10

Yeah, same here - compared to my old pair, this is much thinner and hence much nicer to ride. I am thinking I will pick up another pair as back up / spare, and should be fine for cold with a thin inner glove. R

ead good comments about the disk lock over at boards as well - said some muppets couldn't break it even after 15 mins of hammering. Not bad for a tenner.

Pockets on trousers were very small.
Also the flap was facing forward.
I think when you are sitting the rain will
accumulate at the zip??

They did seem nice trousers though.

Socks for my missus, 2 pair of boots waterproof cover and a rain suit. Not bad for €40...

Spotted over on biker that Cotters are having yet another clearout, so if you didn't get anything suitable in Lidl, Cotters might be the place to go this weekend!

Bought the textile jacket and trousers on Thursday morning. The gear is different from the older Lidl gear I had (Crivet vs b-square). It is lighter, with only the obvious impact areas in the heavy Cordura material. The removable lining is a vest rather then the sleeved type. The neck closing is not really adjustable but it is ok for me. There is no pocket for a back protector. and the pockets are different and not as big, but the same number of them. I wore both into work after that, 20 min spin along the M50 in the rain, and was a bit surprised that no water got in, as it was a really poxy day for rain. No doubt I will find out soon how they will stand up to a heavier downpour.

Anyway, so far so good.

Vixen, there was at least half a dozen of these disk locks here Lidl@Drogheda. If it's too far a trip to come up this way, I can pick one up for you (or for anyone else) and bring them down to Dublin.

Today I bought one of those leather trousers but I think it might be going back - there's nothing to fasten it around the waist which + the size means it can be pulled off me without unbuttoning it! I don't think they have a size smaller, which might be a bit too light anyway.

But if anyone is interested was in the Lidl across the road from Cherry Orchard hospital this evening and they had a few one piece waterproof suits they were flogging off for a tenner - looked like L, XL & XXL sizes.
