[Blade RR]

Anyone own one? Just looking for thoughts and opinions.

I have a fairly spanky fully loaded CBF600sa but posssibly looking to change to something a little different.

Already, I've looked at the tiger 800 but fully loaded its working out few quid dearer than the transalp.

A smaller GS BMW isnt for me so i have nailed in down to the transalp possibly.

Any thoughts ?

This weeks MCN review of the Transalp is far from flattering, Tiger just about pips the new Suzuki V-Strom 650 which rates very highly, the BMW F650gs was third, strange they picked that instead of the F8OOGS, did over 700km on my XC Sunday, impressed, have you taken one for a test ride, my advice is dont unless you have your cheque book in your arse pocket

If you don't wanna go new (you can get them in UK but they are not on Danfays listing) and fancy a spin on a TDM give me a shout...

Read it but thats not what changed my mind....looking at the specs the tiger is a bigger cc bike etc but still pricey. Trading in the CBF600 I'd be murdered, may need to sell private. Havent taken a tiger yet on a test ride. I am sure I'd love it but not tempting myself too much.

My review was 3 years or more now so some much better bikes out there now but the time I spent on my transalp was indeed fun. The biggest problem was lack of power on the faster runs.
MCN reviews are pretty hard to swallow sometimes but I would agree with them on the Tiger. I changed my Tiger 1050 for the 800xc 3 months ago based on reviews and a lengthy test ride and it hasn't let me down. I did say before that I didn't want to drop down the scale power wise but tbh it's grand. Like what was said above don't test ride one unless you have the cheque book with you.

I`ve got an @t and to be honest it was always regarded as a better bike than the transalp but I have found the tdm faster more comfortable and handled better but then again my main ride is a softtail so what de f**k do I know.Look around you`ll get a tdm for peanuts [very underated bike]and keep both.

Has to be the Tiger 800. Venom Yellow of course. You'd be surprised at how quick it is. Better handling than many a more road oriented bike as well. Love it.
