Mine seems to be both the battery and sensors but I don't use the abs anyway.
never liked the feel of it.

Why turn the steering when braking in a straight line?
to me the rider created a more spectacular slide by turning the bars unnecessarily, just for effect.
Progressive braking would had solved that problem?

That may be the case - difficult to know from a small clip exactly what the rider was up to. I would hope he was instructed to keep the test consistent between ABS and non-ABS runs but who knows?
Though the text also explains a bit:
"It’s time for all of us in the motorcycle industry to embrace the benefits of ABS. Extensive testing by safety experts, law enforcement authorities and journalists around the world consistently demonstrates that ABS reduces overall crashes and saves lives".
...
...
"A recent study by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) revealed that motorcycles equipped with antilock brakes are 37 percent less likely to be involved in a fatal crash than models without ABS"
After that though, I'll probably hear that 82% of all statistics are made up on the spot
