iPhone....weird incident

Clicked "done" and a screen pops up, would you like to "sync" your facebook contacts with your phone records.
Intrigued, I took it one step further.
Up pops my facebook contact list.......AND a list of facebook details for people who's names I didn't even know.
It dawned on me that these were people who had phoned me recently, but I might not have known their names previously.
Among them were 2 people who's first names I knew, but not surnames, and who's phone numbers were stored on my phone.
Contacted both of them, and they were sure they had never registered their phone numbers on Facebook.
So how the fcuk do Apple / Facebook make the connection?

This is where it gets strange. Anyone I have phoned, and whose phone number is registered with FB, is considered a possible candidate during syncing.
Doesn't matter whether or not that person is personally known to me...........e.g. my kids schoolteacher who I phoned to confirm a sick note.
That's gotta be an abuse of the Data Protection Act?

As for abuse on Data Protection Act, it's up to the user to set security settings, not FB.
On a side note, even if you deleted your account, FB will still keep all your data on a server somewhere, so you are never really deleted.

Maybe FB's defence will be is that it's not them breaking the law but those using their service. A bit like a guy standing outside a jewellers window selling sledge hammers urging people to help themselves.

Facebook now makes public information like.
Your Name, Age, DOB, Address, When your home and when your not, Where you are at any given time of the day. What you like to eat, Where you like to go and with who, What your interests are and now they wanna know your WHOLE LIFE STORY complete with pictures of the happy moments. (CIA,FBI etc etc WET DREAM)
It's all a bit scary when you think about it, and even if you don't like the idea of Facebook anymore... they couldn't give a flying....................as they have all the info they really need on you anyway. Stored forever and property of FaceBook INC

Facebook outfoxed
The online campaign follows fresh privacy concerns about what data is held by Facebook after it launched features last week that automatically share what users are watching, reading and listening to on certain sites.
