Well I've been listen to (Radio) Nova with interest in the past week with their 500 Classic Rock songs and was enjoying most of it - but was very disappointed in the top 10, with songs from Bruce Springteen and U2 - Classic Rock , what are they thinking but I suppose the number one was no surprise, so anyone else here it, and if so what would your top 10 be??

I was listening as well Alan. I was mighty disappointed as well. I never heard one Sabbath song, or Judas Priest, not even an Iron Maiden song. The whole chart was so full of what we used to call wimpy songs, not fit for a metal head. The station has shifted it's music policy and it's moved into the center of the rock music scene, probably trying to catch more listeners. I was glad I got my iPod fixed and back in the van, freaked me out when they played Oasis, INXS and all that stuff, Guitar based rock me arse, they started out so well.

That's the Irony of modern technology and deregulation, we are promised greater choice and freedom from the heavy hand of centralisation but instead we get a descent into the mainstream of mediocrity because that is where the money is thought to be. A detrimental side effect is that people generally become more intolerant of extremes unless they are shown to be successful rather than just harmless. Living on the edge is all very well if you can afford it and don't we just love an eccentric, so long as he's a millionaire. The rest are just nutters.

p.s. It could have been worse, it could have been Status Quo at No 1

Never really got this one, the full version is about 11min long if I'm not mistaken and not so much a song as there's not much singing going on just mad guitar rifts that seen to last for an age!

My top 10 would have the likes of Metallica, Pink Floyd, Nirvana and my all time favourites AC/DC, I have loved their music since I was a wee nipper and have most if not all of their albums ever produced.
I think it depends on age as to how you define classic!

Great Floyd fan myself, the film really mad an impression in my yoof and your lad has the talent no doubt about it. How long did it take him?

Comfortably numb just about sums it up for me at present although I'm not too sure about the comfortable bit!

I'd say age is the key but just assumed most Nova listeners are closer to my generation Just going by their normal playlist!
