am going to book tickets for me auld doll and daughter to that durty dancin show
in the Grand canal theatre for the new year....is the hotel next to it
alright or is there a better one within walking distance...and is it
handy from heuston train station...

Don't know about the hotel but the luas will take you from heuston to just across the river from the theatre.
The recession must be terrible for those involved.

This is just across the road from work and less than a 10 minute ramble from the theatre

Theres a nice little hotel on dame street that i can't for the life of me remember the name of....beside a pub of the same name-something french iirc....

Andy, there is a couple of car parks in the area. If you are there 60 - 90 mins before the show you will get parking.
However, if u are on the train, grab the luas down into and cross the river OR drive up to Dublin, do park / ride on the luas and get a taxi into town. Bit expensive but driiving into the theatre is an option as well. You could try the red cow hotel, dont know if they are doing good rates but they are on the luas line, worth checking out imo.

The Maldron hotels across the road from the theatre and the Holiday Inns just a short walk round the corner on Pearse st, Holiday Inns not a bad spot, nice bar. The Ferryman pubs just up from the Maldron has a B&B upstairs so prob the cheapest of the three.
