So here's the idea. I have run this by some folk who have shown interest and think it may work.
Have a raffle selling tickets for say Euro 20 for a place to attend the RHRS at Silverstone next year. The idea would be to sell 55 tickets which is enough to purchase 4 places. Once all tivkets are sold we can purchase the tickets and do a draw at a NOB or SMBR sometime early in the spring.
Rules;
- you can purchase as many tikcets as you want to increasing your chance of a win in the draw
- transport ie: Flight to Birmingham is for your account. Typically Euro 60 if booked far enough in advance
- contribution to the hiring of a 7 seater for 1 day would be required. Expected to be around Euro 20 pp
- 2 standby names will be drawn to take over places in case those drawn can't attend
- if less than 55 tickets sold then places to the value of that collected will be purchased and the balance donated to IBF. I.e 40 tickets sold, 3 places will be booked and +- Euro 140 donated to IBF.
- Suggested closing date of end January giving plenty time to book and plan flight for maximum cost saving on flights.
- School days are always during the week and are typically Mon, Tues or Wed, so bear this in mind if you need to book a day off work.
The idea would be, to fly in on the early flight, drive down to Silverstone to do a 12 pm class which should finish around 4 pm. Then make our way back to the airport for some dinner and flight home at around 8 pm.
If there is any real interest or even further ideas please post and if enough interest is shown I will start a list of ticket holders.

Update! Update! Update!
I booked and paid one space for 8th May 2012 at 12:55 on a Premier course at the RHRS today as spaces for May were becoming limited.
This naturally excludes ourselves that will be attending.
The following are in for the draw so far.
1. Phew - PD
2. Stephen190867 - PD
3. Stephen190867 - PD
4. SP1V - PD
6. Jack% - PD
7. Jack% - PD
8. Tiler - PD
9. Tiler - PD
10. Nigel the Plumber -PD
11. Nigel the Plumber - PD
12. Kaos Theory - PD
15. Crispy - PD
16. Kairos - PD
17. Kairos - PD
Total collected is Euro 280 (14 tickets, 9 individuals) based on the above that have paid. This based on today's exchange rate is £ 231. The price of the School day is £ £254 so one further entrant can qualify for the draw. Not sure when the next NOB is but as soon as someone brave suggests a date and place I will make sure I am there to do a public draw.
We will draw two names. First name is the winner. Second name will be a standby winner as a replacement in case the first can't attend. If the same person is drawn first and second, naturally a 3rd will be drawn and that will be the standby winner.
Best of luck to the 9 that entered.
