Yup I'm having the exact same problem as drag. It can fog up a little bit at the bottom between the visor and the insert but that's simple cos I haven't got it on tight enough, my bad etc. But the main problem is the moisture and condensation building up on the insert itself. Looks like I've got a dud

The solution might be to remove the pinlock insert, leave the visor and pinlock in a warm, dry area (such as a hotpress), then fit the insert (hold your breath and avoid panting all over it) and ensure it sits properly so that you get a good seal around the edges.

I'll give that a bash, sound. I've some of the muc off anti-fog spray too that I could put on it maybe

Yes, as delooney says, it's moisture trapped in the airspace between the visor and the pinlock insert - as warm air carries more moisture don't fit the pinlock in your nice warm and steamy kitchen, do it somewhere where the air is cold and dry (difficult to find in this climate but cold air should be a bit drier) and don't use any sprays on the pinlock insert
Let's know how you get on

Hmmm, ya see the problem is there's condensation and mist on the actual insert, as in the outside of it, not between the visor and the insert

There must be moisture inside the helmet so, are you putting your lid on with wet/gelled hair? Have you the vents closed on the lid? The XR has fantastic venting so it can't be that unless you have them all closed and are wearing thick a buff/neck tube/scarf that is preventing air flow within the helmet, allowing your breath to turn into condensation.

Nope, no wet hair or gel Magnets. Ya the venting system is unbelievable on, it actually works!

If you were in Dublin I'd tell you to bring it to me to look at, I'd recommend you bring it to your nearest Shoei dealer, they will sort it for you.

ah ha, that's a different problem entirely and very difficult to understand. That misting up must be caused by your breath - try holding it for an hour or two and see what happens

I know I only have a short enough trip out to college but doubt I'd be able to hold my breath for that long unfortunately

Nah tis kept in the dining room next to the computer. I tried the visor with the temperamental insert on my black shoei Qwest earlier on, made no difference, so I believe I can rule out vent issues.
Took off the clear insert and fitted my yellow/orange one, seemed to make a difference alright, condensation isn't really happening but she's not sealing perfectly to the visor face, probably my fault with the fitting, needs tweaking I say.
