Revised Toll charges for bikes from 1st January (inclusive of the new 23% VAT) as published in today's Irish Indo

M4 Kilcock/Enfield/Kinnegad € 1.40 (cars € 2.80)

M3 Clonee to Kells Moptorway €0.70c (cars € 1.40)

M1 Gormanston/Monasterboice € 1.00 (cars € 1.80)

M6 Galway to Ballinasloe € 1.00 (cars € 1.80)

N8 Rathcormac/Fermoy Bypass € 1.00 (cars € 1.80)

N25 Waterford Bypass € 1.00 (cars € 1.80)

Limercik Southern Ring Road (Limerick Tunnel) € 1.00 (cars € 1.80)

How much blood can you get from a stone ?They keep hammering the average joe with taxes, price hikes etc etc. SOmething is going to give, definitely.

The likes of bertie and his failed cronies, bankers who ripped us all off and sold out our country should be strung up in public and disembolwed. Then set on fire.

You can't call it "Ireland" anymore cause we are waaaay passed all that now.

If you compare the 2012 rates with the 2011 rates....

M4 Kilcock/Enfield/Kinnegad € 1.40 (cars € 2.80) €1.40 €2.70

M3 Clonee to Kells Motorway €0.70c (cars € 1.40) 70c €1.30

M1 Gormanston/Monasterboice € 1.00 (cars € 1.80) 90c €1.80

M6 Galway to Ballinasloe € 1.00 (cars € 1.80) 90c €1.80

N8 Rathcormac/Fermoy Bypass € 1.00 (cars € 1.80) 90c €1.80

N25 Waterford Bypass € 1.00 (cars € 1.80) 90c €1.80

Limerick Southern Ring Road (Limerick Tunnel) € 1.00 (cars € 1.80) 90c €1.80

Bikes are being hit with an increase on 5 of the 7 tolls with no increase in the car rate - strange since the increase is supposed to be due to VAT?

Here's how it works, in this example it was 89.99999977....or 90.c

M6 Galway to Ballinasloe (New)€ 1.00 (cars € 1.80) (Old) 90c (Cars) €1.80

90c divided by 121 (100 % plus 21% vat) and then multiplied by 123 (100 plus 23% vat) = 91.48 so it round up to ther nearest 10c
