Just to clarify a few points.
1. The Run of the Lambs is not my run, I take no part in the organising of it.
2. It is an invitation only event. This helps keep the numbers to a manageable size. Invites are also kept to low numbers because of the one simple rule of the event. If you cause any trouble at the event you are no longer welcome nor is the person who invited you.
3. It is not nor has it ever been advertised. I post annually to see who from here is going. In the 5 years that I've been posting this is the first year there has been an issue with it.
4. It is a hotel based weekend of biking and banter with some like-minded individuals.
5. It's now in it's 11th year and what started as a weekend away for 5 has grown to a weekend for about 100 where the average age of attendee is mid 50's. Oldest being 86 who has attended ten and this year's youngest is 22.
6. It is not nor ever has been a charity event.
7. Quite a few members of IBF and other forums attend but it is a forum neutral event. I have mentioned IBF several times at this event and some of the attendees have subsequently joined this forum.
8. I have enjoyed the laugh and intrigue that has gone on in the past 5 years of posting about this event and am saddened that someone's pettiness has brought it to this.
9. I am looking forward to The Run of the Lambs this year so I can enjoy a weekend of biking with adults.
10.How does one get an invite? Check out the Run of the Lambs Facebook page. Apply directly to them and as invites for 2012 have already gone out get in early for 2013.
Thanks all.
ps So who's going?

DescriptionCan you imagine lambs running down the street?
It's all happening this Saturday 17th September for the Running of the Lambs. Watch up to 1,000 lambs run down the main street in Waipukurau, Central Hawke's Bay.

Thats the crux of the objection. Its invitation only, however its posted here as a teaser. If its invitation only - then why post it up on the forum as a run "of sorts" ?
Its like me saying who's going to such and such a party, even tho I know 99% of the people on here wont be invited ?
Its not inclusive to the majority of the members.
So apologies, I am going to close this down on the basis that its not inclusive*
Having been the 1%er (oo err missus) who went to that party it was via PM / Text and probably facebook.
I'd ask members to keep any future exclusive (aka - "non inclusive" or "Divisive") events off the forum.
Pm's, texts, facebook is a better route.
thanks
Tazzzie
