Does any truck driver or instructor know if a person was driving a vehicle in category EC1, would the EC category also cover this? Taking articulated in the broader sense of towing.

I am not sure how you would get EC and not get EC1.
I thought if you qualified on EC you automatically got all the E+.
Hopefully somebody who knows the current testing process will be able to answer.

I'm no expert but basically , if you pass a C licence , you automatically get a C1 licence . If you pass your EC test (artic) , you get your EC, EC1 , EB licence , you need to do the bus licence (D) seperately and ED licence but it's the same , pass your D licence you automatically get your D1 .

Yes EC is an artic licence & also covers the smalller truck with trailer EC1.

Would this help?
They look like separate categories on the actual driving license, depending on GVW.

Thats slightly different to whats shown in the ROTR, doesn`t mention articulated. And going on this EC covers EC1 but not EB.

Cheers for that, can you confirm EC does not cover EB?
