SMBR RHRS draw - 22/01 9:30 leave 10 - Foxhunter Ron Haslam Race School draw

We have already bought the Ron Haslam Race School ticket and would like to conclude the draw as soon as possible. This is to allow for booking of cheaper flight and planning of day off for the lucky sole that wins.
Meet at Fox Hunter garage, Lucan at 9:30. Leave 10 am and head for Stradbally to meet up with any Midland folk that want to join.
Have breakfast at Stradbally Fayre, do the draw from a hat/helmet. Offer congrats to the winner if present and then do what we all do best. RIDE.
From Stradbally, head to Abbeyleix, Mountrath (R430), Kinnity (R421), Tullamore, Kilbeggan, R391 to Mullingar.
Stop at Mullingar for a cuppa and then head home on the Motorway. Those more adventurous can head back using an alternate route of choice.

Just a thought - The R440 is likely to be very messy at this time of year. I can do a recce
on Saturday if you want?

In all seriousness, is there any reason why the R440 would messier than any other R road? I am not too familiar with those all the roads in that area.
That all said and done, it might be a good idea for you to have a look and we can review things over breakfast.

Take your point! The reason I mention it is it gets really broken up in the winter.(It gets really cold up there!).
The edges tend to be really bad and there's a fierce camber that throws you into the edge. They did some 'repairs' earlier on
which left loose gravel all over the place.
I'll have a gander

Although it's an "R" road Yogi, it's not a very good one. It's a bit like the road over the Sally Gap, narrow and rough. It's not too bad in the summer but usually very greasy this time of year ( the bits that aren't gravelly!)
I'd suggest thinking about going from Mountrath to Mountmellick on the R423 and then, if you want go around the mountain take the R422 and then the R421 - just an idea
See you for breakfast, all being well

Plenty of snaps Fr D, I like being all green, wear the green shirt our fabulously wealthy leader has told us
I tried to post using my phone, useless it is at it. Anyhow lots to say about this run Yogi, fecking Class is two words for it. I hope to make this one, I'm with Leyna, no coke a cola for me Saturday night.
Nigel, what's all this about you winning the ticket you've no chance mate my name is already on in, the brown envelope is on it's way
If Mrs The Plumber hears you saving to go track days, jeez you'll be in deep s..., however you could always tell her you won the ticket and it would be a waste not to use it, then save like mad. Just one piece of advice from a long time married man.
Roll on Sunday.

That said, enjoy your week-end FrD and I can't wait to tell you about our tour when we are in Europe later this year
