I wonder if any Forum member might have a brake caliper for a 78 CX. I attempted to change to a dual disc, with slightly smaller caliper and have been in trouble with it since. Still have original wheel and anxious to get her back on the road. Any contact appreciated, based here in Drogheda, would be interested in any caliper which might fit.
Many thanks,
Paul.

As far as I know, a CB 400 N (400 superdream) has the same factory discs and calipers as an early CX... (The Eurosport being different altogether)
EDIT: Just read your post again... If your CX was originally a single disc setup, it will have been a US import...
If you can locate a 400 Superdream front end it would make for a straight swap over...
I do know that an old friend of mine put a Kawasaki GT 500 front end on his after an accident we had on it...
Wheels are totally different looking though.
EDIT #2: There is a cheap set (but it's an auction) for a CB 400 N (superdream) on eBay UK at the moment.

Thank you so much for your reply. Yes, 78 D may have been an import, I do not know. I changed the front wheel, refurbished two calipers, I have no doubt they were off a Superdream, but from the first day they were never right. They are slightly smaller than the original. Despite all work we could never get the air out of the system, everything tried for hours and days. Thought that maybe I would be as well to go back to a single. Thank you for your interest and reply, I am just anxious to get this Lady back on the road this year and enjoy some reasonably priced biking. Will stay on the hunt, thank you again.

No problem... I like the 70's and 80's bikes, and know more about them generally.
You could have 250 superdream calipers? (Not sure if it's possible for sure)
If you've bleeding the brake bother, I'm almost sure there's a sticky in this section of the forum...
If not post here again and I will get back to you with some advice.

Once again thank you for your interest and help, all advice or guidance gladly accepted. Still feel I might change back to the single..................if I can find where I put it. Reckon the master cylender is unable for both calipers, particularly as I still have such trouble bleeding same.
Hope things are well in the Kingdom, I have a special place in heart and soul for Ballinskelligs, I spent a short but very formative time there.
