Having a car isnt really an option for me, the cost of the car, the tax, the insurance and the running costs. Having a bike is my only option for transport.
However, Iv always liked bikes and I love driving my bike, i love cleaning it and learning about how they work.
Im 22 and i have a provisional license.
I drive a 49cc honda.
Its only a moped but i still consider myself a bike enthusiast.
The 49cc is grand, but for the roads i take it just isnt fast enough, i dont want to unrestrict it because i dont want to damage it.
Also, i just want a NSR 50 or 80! because i ,like them!
My insurance for 1st year was €380,
my 2nd year (current year) it was €300.
I looked at honda nsr 50 and honda nsr 80, i got quotes for both and they were:
NSR 50 - €850
NSR 80 - €1400
i just cannot afford that.
how risky would it be to buy a NSR 50 or 80 and say nothing to my insurance?
How could i work it?
Has anyone a bike which is insured as another?
Cheers

Your problem is you WOULD NOT BE INSURED!!!! If you crash into me, a child, a dog, anything be prepared for the worst.
Please also remember that this is an Open Forum.
Why not throw up an intro in the New Members Forum ?

That's not possible, you simply would not be insured.
What Provisional Licence have you got, M, A1 or A Provisional?
If M you are limited to 50cc AFAIK
If you have a provisional A or A1 you may get a reasonable price on a YBR125 as they ar eless "Sporty" than the NSR's

Insurance companies have a quote In LATIN ( here goes ) Ubere may fedies which means UP MOST GOOD FAITH !!
which means you must declare truthfully what where and why on what they are insuring. So any wrong, missed or not told truths can result in insurance being null in void.
So as stated previous DONT DO IT !
TIE A KNOT IN IT AND HANG ON!!!!

Stick with it I reckon, next year it'll be lower again hopefully, you'll have more experience and will be less of a risk to yourself regardless of the insurance costs and more able for a bigger bike in the longer term. Its a little bike thats fair to say, but I have seen little bikes go round corners faster than bigger bikes. Experience counts and the top end isnt whats its about (as I have learned over the years)

I dont believe thats possible to be honest. Back in the day, at best you'd get away with a blag (back when you could ride / drive while pished up - before blowing into the bag) some time ago you might have gotten away with a big bore kit.
In these modern times, its really not worth the risk.
Suck it down on the bike you have and learn its limits and yours. Take your time and it will come.
Take care.

theres the rub, biker2323.
In the event of an accident,
the insurance company can tell you that your insurance was invalid.
and, in the event of an accident, this could lead to a whole world of sh!te, for a lot of people.

I don't think there is a way around it, the whole thing has been designed by a bunch of hoods and we normal people just can't beat these insurance criminals.
So I do think a change of plan is needed my friend. As FrD has said what about a YBR125? Nice tall bike with a good sitting position, feels like a "real bike" if you get my meaning. Or just stick with the machine you have, give it another year and then see what you Fancy then. You just can't hurry these things up when your young.
Best of luck with it all.

What insurance company have you tried? Looks like Aon to me.. there expensive.
I was insured on a moped when I started for E620 and when I bought an NSR 50 it was the same price so I just transferred it over to the new bike. Im insured with Quinn btw
