Its another tax that will go up and up. Pretty soon the average joe will have zero disposable income.
Balls to taxing you by land value.
We should be out there dragging politicians fdrom their houses, not through protests cause they aint listening. Proper Hardcore action required.
How many taxes have we been hit with so far, they keep going up & more new ones added. We'll be bled dry by the banks and left to rot like starved vegitation in a desert.
It aint Ireland anymore, just another country with no name and in endless debt.
You can't blame fine gael but they aint helping the situation at all.

Anyway, where are ppl gonna get 25 - 40 quid a week to pay this extra charge.
Our future is made by foreign bankers now and the government are the messanger boys.
Ppl are blind to how bad things are, I'm not all doom and gloom but we'd wanna wake up and cop on. Its like the matrix, we're all batteries for bankers. "Owned" is another way of putting it, every one of us.

And Ill add a very Dublin "go ask me B0LL0X" to that !
Every other charge brought in shoots up the minute it comes into force, 100 euro this year, 200-300 next year and so on. Once they bring in a new type of tax its very hard to get rid of it, much easier to fight it from the off before it gets up and running.

My thoughts exactly! What Tax?
If they want my money they can at least write to me. In the UK you actually get a break down of how the money is spent AT LOCAL LEVEL. e.g. X%
Libraries X% Fire Service etc.
Why do they also assume that everyone has Web access???

Household Charge – how to LEGALLY avoid paying it
How you don’t have to legally pay Household Tax!!- You wont get a bill because the charge is a Statute. People need to understand this: A Statute is a “legislated rule of society given the force of law by the consent of the governed.”(Blacks Law Dictionary 4th edition). Who are those it governs? Us, the public.
This household charge is a Statute, otherwise known as an Act of Government and only carries the force of law upon you if you consent to it which means that your legally obliged to pay if you consent or in other words go on to householdcharge.ie and register. Your silence and inaction will also give the appearance of consent. If you do not consent, a Statute cannot affect you in any way whatsoever.
The courts know this and the last thing they will do is tell you. In fact they will hide this from you at every opportunity they can. On the other hand, if you tell them, they will accept it because they know it is actually true. According to the above definitions a statutory instrument is a contract. If you register for this “charge” you are consenting to this statuate ie: signing the contract. This is why the Government are ASKING the people to register and not just billing them instead.

A few people posted that up on Facebook.
If I recall correctly and someone may remember better than me, there was, for the youngsters, a 55mph limit on all main roads for time during the petrol crisis. This continued long after the petrol crisis was over.
A judge changed the speed limit to the normal limits on the basis that he was seeing so many cases of exceeding the 55mph limit that clearly the people did not agree with this law and therefore it must be changed.
I will see what I can dig out because it is obviously very relevant.
